Aerial Workshops on Feb. 28
Valérie Inertie is an internationally acclaimed and renowned circus artist and aerialist with a keen sense of movement, expression, and creative processes. At the end of February, you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of aerial acrobatics with her and then regenerate your body with aerial yoga.
Her work combines technical precision with poetic lightness—and it is precisely this quality that she now brings to our studio.
About Valérie
After completing her training at the renowned Circus School of Quebec, she developed her own movement language under the stage name Inertie, combining poetic expression with technical precision.
As a multi-award-winning stage artist, she has toured worldwide and appeared in variety shows, performances, and international productions for Cirque du Soleil, Wintergarten, and Le plus Grand Cabaret du Monde, among others. We are delighted to have her with us for two workshops, which will benefit beginners, advanced dancers, and professionals alike.
Workshop 1: Aerial Dance in the Hammock
In this workshop, the aerial hammock is used as a tool for creativity and expression in aerial dance. Structured improvisations invite participants to physically experience the connection between floorwork, suspension, and musicality. Inversions and suspensions open up new spaces for movement—within the positions and in the transitions between them. The workshop strengthens your sense of expression, timing, and space and teaches principles that can also be applied in other disciplines. It is aimed at anyone with some previous experience in aerial acrobatics/dance and aerial yoga.

Workshop 2: Restorative Aerial Yoga
In this workshop, aerial yoga is practiced in a gentle, restorative form. The hammock is set at knee height and provides secure support, with inversions always remaining in contact with the floor. You will be guided through calm, deep stretches and flowing sequences that are connected to your breath. The positions are held for about 2 to 4 minutes, adapted to your individual well-being, inviting you to let go and regenerate.
The workshop is ideal after physical exertion, for consciously reconnecting with your own well-being, or as a gentle introduction to aerial practice. No previous experience is necessary—everyone is welcome!

💬 Still got questions?
How does the payment system with the credits work?
With our IMA credits, you can book all classes, workshops and trainings fairly and flexibly. Choose between credit packages or a credit membership and design your training just the way you want it!
IMA Credits offer you maximum flexibility: you only need ONE card or membership that you can use for ALL classes, training sessions and workshops. You pay different amounts of credits depending on the category. The bigger your package, the cheaper your training will be.
Which classes are particularly suitable for beginners in aerial acrobatics?
We offer special Intro classes for Aerial Hoop and Aerial Silks for beginners with no previous experience, in which you will first build up strength, learn the basics, and get a feel for the equipment. Once you are ready, you can move on to the Beginner classes. No Intro class is required for Trapeze and Aerial Hammock, so you can participate in the classes even without any previous experience.
Have you always wanted to try aerial but aren't sure what suits you best? Then our All Aerial class with Zinnia is just the thing for you! Here you can try out different aerial acrobatics props before deciding on one.
Do you offer Open Training?
Yes! In Open Training, you can repeat what you have learned in class independently without a teacher. You use our equipment and usually have 90 minutes for your training.
Our Open Training is available for members and package holders of the IMA. M & L members can use their contract credits for this. S Members or holders of credit packages can purchase Open Training credits.
What are the membership options?
With our memberships, you can train at the best price and make the fastest progress through regular training. Every month, you receive new credits that can be used for classes, courses, and workshops.
You can choose between membership S for 4-6 classes per month, M for 8-20 classes per month, and L for 12-30 classes per month – with a minimum term of either 3 or 12 months, after which you can cancel on a monthly basis.
As an M or L member, you can also use your credits for open training and bring a guest with your credits once a month. If you are unable to use up your credits, they will simply be carried over to the next month.
Which advantages do I have as a member?
As a contract member, you receive a 10% discount on private lessons and access to the membership area in our IMA Community Space on Discord. There you can exchange ideas with coaches and other students and receive helpful information and tips for your training. You can also occasionally participate in workshops at a reduced price. After completing an instructional session, M&L members can also participate in open training, invite a guest to training once a month using their credits, and pause their membership for one month once a year.
