Stories of Success from our Classes:
What does progress in training really mean?
We are always impressed by the enormous progress our students make during training. Even with just one training session a week, big changes are visible after a short time. In addition to a visible improvement in flexibility and strength, there are also small but important gains that are often overlooked.
These include, among others:
ü improved technique and the associated avoidance of pain and injury,
ü better posture and
ü overcoming fears and destructive training patterns!
Sometimes it is difficult to recognise these small but very important developments. At this point, frustration often kicks in and the motivation to train is lost... If you've ever been at this point or are struggling with it right now, these examples of success stories from our classes are probably helpful! You may even recognise yourself in one or two of these stories...
Strengthened supporting muscles with hyperflexibility
C. came to us with great flexibility but hardly the strength to use it effectively and without injury. In class, we gave her strength exercises adapted to her needs, which helped her to balance out this asymmetry. She is now able to utilise her flexibility well in the end range of motion and perform demanding tricks safely with the strength she has built up.
Corrected muscular imbalances
V. has a demanding office job and sits a lot and on one side. As a result, her mobility and strength were also very one-sided. Due to the unbalanced continuous strain, a muscular imbalance has developed. After just 8 weeks of training, she is now almost completely stabilised and the pain caused by poor posture has disappeared.
Overcoming fear of the unknown
Facing fears is difficult, but it is a hurdle that everyone has to overcome at some point in their training career. Many of our customers use the wrong tools for this and get stuck. A classic example: the wall during handstand training:
With the trainer's help and creative pre-exercises, N. managed to find great self-confidence within a few weeks and now even does partner tricks - no more wall! You can find out more about handstand and balance training in our Instagram post here. Instagram Beitrag hier.
S., who already has a solid background in aerial acrobatics training as well as good muscles and flexibility, also struggled with her fear of unknown tricks. With targeted instruction in online training, she managed to overcome this fear and is now able to perform difficult moves on her own.
Flexible despite aerial acrobatics
If you do aerial acrobatics, you build up a lot of strength in your arms, core and hip flexors! However, without compensatory training and sufficient stretching, hip flexors and the front shoulder muscles often shorten, which affects flexibility in these areas. L. and S. know this problem very well! They regularly train in aerial acrobatics and were able to regain their flexibility through our Stretching Intensive Back class online and in the studio. This now also helps them in the air and enables them to perform many beautiful tricks and shapes.
However, compensatory training for aerial acrobatics is also important for joint health! You can find out more about this topic in our article Flexibility despite aerial acrobatics. Flexibilität trotz Luftakrobatik.
Great progress even with only little time
A. had a baby last year and also has a full-time job, so she can't make it to regular classes on site. With our online programme, however, she is able to train effectively and her strength and flexibility are now already now better than before her maternity leave with just one session a week!
Continuous learning
M., who completed a teacher training course for stretching with us and now teaches herself, keeps taking our classes online so that she can continue her own training, further optimise it and gain experience for her teaching. The constant build-up of new knowledge helps her to achieve good training results for herself and her students.
As you can see, online training can also be very efficient under good guidance and can even help you to learn taking on challenges on your own. We also work in small groups with individual feedback for you!
Summer Class Schedule July & August and new Teachers
Our class schedule remains mostly the same, only the online stretching classes have been swapped: Online Stretching Side Splits will now take place on Thursdays. This means you now have the opportunity to improve your back flexibility twice a week: on Tuesdays with Online Stretching Intensive Back and on Thursdays with Contortion Beginner.
Finally, we have some particularly good news: we are delighted to welcome two new teachers to our team!
Anton
Anton B. is a professional circus artist and has worked at Circus Flic Flac, Cirque du Soleil and won a silver medal at Cirque De Demain. He will be taking over the acrobatics class from June 19.
Janett
Janett W. is already known to some as Olena's substitute for our hoop classes. We are delighted that she is now a permanent member of the team and will be taking over the Tuesday aerial hoop beginners class from July on.
Welcome to our team ❤️
